#10 -The Mighty Ducks Of Anaheim. A seriously rubbish logo to go along with those terrible films. If you like those films consider yourself a Fife fan. I can't stand the name, the colours or the duck mask. Funny how they changed the sucka and teams fortunes changed!. I blame the logo.
#9 - Hannover Scorpions. I wonder how long it took the Scorpion's designers to come up with this idea. A scorpion in a goalie helmet. Genius no wait, Rubbish!!!.
#8 - Bracknell Bees. Could it 'Bee' drawn any worse?. The Bees have been a strong team in the UK in past but come on the comical logo let them down big time. Think they have changed it now.
#7 - Vancouver Canucks, their have been some recent rumblings about the Canuck logos of old and how some fans want to see them back. None of them were in favour for the return of this HIDEOUS skate design. It is a skate... isn't it??
#6 - Greenville Grrrowl. One word describes this attempt.... 'Crrrap!'
#5 - Dayton Ice Bandits. I don't really know what to make of this logo. It's so bad, it's almost good. I bet every Ice Bandits player wore it with "pride" It is very Mcdonalds. The team only lasted one season.
#4 - Broome County Icemen. The now defunct UHL team from New York were never going to sell many tops to the few fans that actually came to see them with this LAME attempt of a team logo
TIME FOR THE TOP THREE.... PREPARE YOURSELF!!!!:
#3 Revier Lowen Oberhausen. The 2nd entry on the list from Germany and a well deserved one too. It looks like it was designed on an early 90s version of paint. ISL teams faced-off against Revier Lowen a few years ago.
#2 Hamilton Kilty B's. You'd think this team logo effort would have been good enough for victory and to claim the top spot. It was actually sitting in 1st place until I discovered the new #1 seed. The Kilty B's design again looks like it took about three minutes at most to be scribbled down on a notepad. Whoever drew it and whoever accepted it as the teams design should really check themselves into their local mental hospital. The Kilty B's were a Tier II Junior "A" team from Ontario.
So here it is the worst team logo every thought of. It will take a hell of a lot for anyone to come up with something so obviously WRONG!!!. Fortunately it was never shown out on an ice pad.
#1 Jacksonville Bullets. Do I need to comment on it?. Is that really a bullet?. Would a player even go near a jersey with that design on it?. Maybe if Durex sponsored the team. It is hilarious, can't believe it was even considered to represent a hockey team. The Jacksonville Bullets folded along with the rest of the Southern Hockey League teams after the 1995-96 season.
Won't take issue with most of your 10 worst logos, but I will take issue with one. I loved the Dayton Ice Bandits, and still have several items (including a game worn jersey). Some history. The Bandit logo was originally a racoon shooting a puck, but the logo had to be changed because it was too close to the logo of the Baltimore Bandits. The logo you have displayed is supposed to be a phantom, but it was done in a hurry. The Ice Bandits played in the old Hara Arena after the Bombers fled to the 13,000 seat Nutter Center on the other side of town, and it was a terrible team in a terrible old barn in a terrible league. But since it was five minutes from my residence (compared to a half-hour trek to the Nutt House) I rarely missed a game. Go Bandits
ReplyDeleteI use to go to the Jsx Bullets games and never saw that logo used. That's not to say it was never considered but I think even then they knew it was bad.

ReplyDeleteRe: The Dayton Ice Bandits logo..I agree with the previous poster. I Loved the Ice Bandits! As he said, this logo was supposed to be a phantom. How neat he was skating on the ice with fire & lights out..What a family friendly team, we need more teams like this. I have tons of memoribilia from the Dayton Ice Bandits games including a signed Goalie Jersey offered for sale at one of their auctions. Also sets of autographed hockey cards...Just tons of cool things! The list goes on and on... Great memories!
